Funlab, Australia’s fastest-growing out-of-home Entertainment business, is announcing the closure of Sky Zone trampoline parks in Australia, located in Alexandria, Sydney and Macgregor, Brisbane.
Due to growing industry-wide trends of rapidly increasing costs and significantly diminished availability of insurance for trampoline parks, Funlab has regrettably decided to close its Sky Zone venues, with Sky Zone Alexandria not reopening after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in NSW and Sky Zone Macgregor closing on December 19, 2021.
“We’d love to thank the millions of jumpers who have visited us over the past seven years since opening as well as the fantastic staff who have worked during this time to deliver amazing experiences for guests of all ages at our Sky Zone locations” said Funlab CEO, Michael Schrieber.
“While it’s a sad day for us in announcing these closures, we’re already looking forward to launching an amazing new concept in the Alexandria precinct in 2022, that will bring a new and innovative experience for our scores of loyal customers in the area. We can’t wait to announce more information soon, so guests can look forward to a new kind of fun-tainment that our venues are synonymous with.”
Staff from the Sky Zone venues will be extended the opportunity to join other venues in Funlab’s growing portfolio including Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq which is located at the Alexandria precinct in Sydney and Toombul Shopping Centre in Brisbane as well as other brands including Holey Moley Golf Club and Strike Bowling Bar.
Funlab will retain the lease for the Sky Zone Alexandria site, with further information to come about plans for the site in 2022.
